Each time I try to publish with more than 6 players in the game it fails at transmitting header file. It used to do that same thing with any more than 8 players, but now it's down to 6. I deleted all of the Game Variants and I still have the issue. I have a lot of Game Attributes, and deleting them to fix the problem is not an option. I did check to make sure all of them have enough options for each player and appropriate defaults though, any thoughts?
Has Map -> Player Properties the correct slots?
I don't know what you mean by 'correct slots' but it has 8 'open' player slots with all settings set to "Any" or "Default"
I tried recreating the problem with a fresh map. I was able to replicate it sort of, it's a very strange issue indeed.
So here is how my attributes are setup:
I have 7 player attributes and they are -
So "Player Type" has 16 choices which are (Player 1, Player 2, and then Spectator 1-14). In order to unlock the "Color" menu you must have picked either Player 1 or Player 2 in the "Player Type" menu. "Color" has 14 choices. "Region" also requires that the player selected Player 1 or Player 2 in the "Player Type" attribute. It has four options which correspond with the next four attributes, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Korea. Each of the region attributes has a ton of options to choose from (they are sc2 pro teams).
Oddly, the map worked fine and fine and fine, I kept publishing throughout the entire process of setting up these attributes. It was only after adding the last attribute (Korea) that it seemed to have a problem. Instinct would tell me that I just have too many attributes, but then why does it work for some number of players but not all? (In this case it will actually let me publish with 10, but not 12 or 14...only the old map it would only allow 7)
I am going to try condensing the Asia and Americas regions into a single attribute since they have the fewest options and see if that fixes the problem.
The problem definitely seems related to how many attributes you have. It's sort of unfortunate because I really need a lot of them to make this thing the way I want to. The only other option for me is an in game lobby, and I have been really trying to avoid that.
It seems like at a certain point each attribute you add reduces the number of players you can have in the game by 2.
