How do I get player colors other than the default 8 to appear in game variants so I can apply them to players?

Use the Set Team Color event action?

Go into the Data Editor, open the Gamplay Data tab, go into the Default SC2 Gameplay Settings that is used and change the UI: Team Colors settings as you like.

You can change the names and the color iirc.

Hmmmm, thank you very much Bommes. This is definitely the correct setting to change, but unfortunately whenever I try to change player colors now in player properties or game variants it corrupts the header file and won't let me publish.

    Any experience with this problem?

Are you trying to publish it as a melee map?

Changing the Default Gameplay options is definitely not possible for Meleemaps. Otherwise I have no idea what could cause that, I changed the colors too and I can publish the map just fine.

Nah it's an arcade map. I have found another instance of someone having a similar problem here. Nothing in that thread seems to be helping me though. I am going to go ahead and try to create a fresh map and see if I can get it to work.

Yeah even on a fresh map it still corrupts the header file when I try to assign one of the new colors to a player by player properties, game variants, or both. And if I don't assign it, it does not show up as available to players in the lobby anyways. Pretty frustrating. I thought maybe it was because I was using a dependency to change it, but when I removed the dependency and did it manually in the map it still corrupts the header file.

I took a look at your map 'mechcraft' in your profile. Looks really cool.

Oh so you created new colors? I don't know if that's possible, I changed the old ones and that was no problem.

No I didn't create new colors. I just changed the minimum player count for 'Violet' (color #9) to 0 from 8, so it should be available for selection by default. But there is something interfering with it now where if you try to force it on a player it corrupts the header file and if you don't force it on them it doesn't show up in the selectable colors list in the lobby. I am not sure what is causing it. It's like the data is being overwritten by another dependency but I don't think that is the case. I even tried removing the liberty multi mod dependency to be sure it wasn't affecting it even though the map data should take precedence.

I basically can't get the colors to show up in the lobby at all. And in most cases the header file becomes corrupted and I cannot even publish.

Do you think it would be possible to send me an example map with this working? Because I have still been unable to get it to work. Either the header fails during publishing, or the colors do not show up as available in the lobby.

    I would really appreciate it.

and here we go my map all ready for you, i've uploaded it to bnet already, and will take it down when i need the room. but yes it works. I haven't had that problem with the header before, but i have had issues with new game variants too. (i deleted them for that upload and then immediately remade them and uplaoded it again)
