    How do I change an actor's death model? I duplicated the Marine actor, and managed to change everything else in it to what I want... but I couldn't change the death model to the appropriate model; it's still the Marine death model.

    Go to the Marine Actor and find the field " Death Effects"

    Click on it and scroll down to the field Model.

    It uses the model "Marine Death."

    Now you can choose any other model to use as a death effect!

    Note: You can use different death models for different types of death scenarios. If your marine burns to death, there is a certain model to use etc.

    @Kabelkorven: Go

    Hey! Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any "Death Effects" field in the Marine actor:

    EDIT: I found out what the problem was! "Show Advanced Values" was disabled in the editor. Thank you very much Kabelkorven!

    Make sure your data editor has its display buttons like this...

    Mess with these Combat fields...

    What are you trying to have him die as? Changing the death model will change it from something like a Marine to a Hydralisk. If you want to have the Marine when he dies to turn into a Hydralisk (or a different model) then you can.

    To change how he dies (burned, exploded, sliced and diced, disintegrated, or even frozen) you will need to change the Combat: Death field of the Damage effect...

    Remember that all unit actors have varying death animations. It depends on the damaging effect that killed the unit that determines which of these animations will play. The list of these are: Blast, Cancel, Disintegrate, Eat, Electrocuted, Eviscerate, Fire, Freeze, Impact, Morph, Normal, Remove, Salvage, Silent Kill, Squish, Timeout, Under Construction, and Unlink.
