(Solved) No calldown available Problem with Ability > Ghost - Nuclear Strike Copy

Hi, I am new to the map editor, and needing some help.

I am trying to add a faster Nuclear Strike ability to a unit other than Ghost.

But even if I check-off everything when I duplicate Ability > Ghost - Nuclear Strike, the button fail to show the count of nuke I have purchased and shows Error of "No calldown available" when I click on it.

If I just put the original Ghost Nuclear Strike ability on the new unit, it works perfectly; it just does not work with the exact duplicate ability.

    Why? What am I missing?

I changed the following to make cast speed to 12 seconds.

    1. Model > Ghost Nuke Indicator > Animation Speed = 1.66666 (instead of 1)
    1. Effect> Ghost - Nuke (Persistent) > Period Count = 10 (instead of 50)

@dragooness: Go Try using one of the alternative version used by Nova. I believe the main difference between this versions and the standard one is the casting time. If it doesn't work as you want, then go back to what you were trying.

Don't copy/duplicate the use calldown effect. The silo is linked to it and it seems like it is not possible to link more than one calldown effect to a magazin.

Ghost Academy - Arm Magazine (Nuke) > Effect > Ghost - Nuke (Calldown).

So instead of trying to copy/duplicate Ability > Ghost - Nuclear Strike, I can only copy/duplicate Ability > Ghost Academy - Arm Magazine (Nuke), and create another button to build/buy a separate/different nuke for the new unit with the new nuke ability.

There is no way to "share" bought nuke?

If I don't copy/duplicate Ghost - Nuke (Calldown), then I will not be able to change Ghost - Nuke (Persistent), then I will not be able to change cast speed.

    Is there anyway around it?

Modify the existing calldown effect with a switch effect before the persistent effect validating the unit type of the caster.

As I mentioned b4, I am fairly new to the editor.

So bear with me when I say "How?" to

I tried, I failed, help me plz.

I duplicated Ghost - Nuclear Strike and change the new Ghost - Nuke Copy (Calldown) to Marine - Nuke (Calldown)

I created an Effect > Nuke Switch.

The effect is pretty empty, except, Case 0 = Marine - Nuke (Calldown), Case 1 = Ghost - Nuke (Calldown)

I do not know what to put on the Validator colume for Nuke Switch.

    I did the following.

Ghost Academy - Arm Magazine (Nuke) > Effect > Calldown Effect > Ghost - Nuke (Calldown)

    I replaced it with

Ghost Academy - Arm Magazine (Nuke) > Effect > Calldown Effect > Nuke Switch

Now both Nuclear Strike shows no calldown.

    Help me plz.

You should try GEditorUser's suggestion, I think it will be the best way to solve the problem. Get the effect that sets the casting time and duplicate it, give the new effect the casting time you want. Right now this new effect is useless, so go get the effect or whatever that links to the original effect. This one you are going to change so it links to a Switch type of effect so the link can go to the original one or the new one, depending on which unit type is casting it. For it to work you will need a validator to detect if the caster is your special unit.

Try to follow these steps and PM me whenever you get stuck.

    I am trying.

I added Switch Effect to switch between Case 0 = Marine - Nuke (Calldown) and Case 1 = Ghost - Nuke (Calldown)

After Ghost Academy - Arm Magazine (Nuke) > Effect > Calldown Effect >

    It did not work.

Since the cast time is really only under Ghost - Nuke (Persistent),

I am going to duplicate Ghost - Nuke (Persistent) to Marine - Nuke (Persistent).

And create a Switch Effect under Effect > Ghost - Nuke (Calldown) > Effect > Calldown Effect, where the old Ghost - Nuke (Persistent) used to be.

    And it worked.
