Replacing Model Textures

    Earlier today I exported the billboards_diffuse.dds and edited with my own signature logo. (Replaced the Blizzard Entertainment with Thorcraft Games.)

    The problem is that I don't know how to replace the old file inside the Editor; Assets/Textures/billboards_diffuse.dds

    Right now I have the file imported, and I'd really like some help. Thanks

    This tutorial is pretty much all you need:

    If you don't need to swap it in the middle of a game, you could just give it the same path as the old file and it will automatically use your new file instead.

    Is there a newer Tutorial? Or another way? I simply want to go in and replace the old file with this new one.

    I apologize for my extremely newbie questions.

    @rtschutter: Go

    How would I do that?

    @Uzurak: Go After you import it to your map/mod, right click the file and select Move Files. Then type the correct path (Assets/Textures/)

    @SoulFilcher: Go

    Moved it successfully, for some reason it still shows up as Blizzard Entertainment. If I can figure this out, my players can be expecting a lot of downloading.

    Here is an example map.

    @Uzurak: Go

    Don't forget to reopen your map or in some cases, restart your editor.

    The editor doesn't update imported texture changes in real time.

    Thank you for all the help, I didn't test run it in game. I assumed it would show up in editor mode

    I can really see SC2Mapster is a great community for Mapmaking, I'll try and post some tutorials or tips of my own sometime. ^_^

    There is a way to get textures to show up in the editor but I think you would have to use actor events which is kind of complex.

    @rtschutter: Go

    You just need to set a timer on ator creation with a nominal numner (0.016+) that does it on timer expirey.

    @Uzurak: Go

    The tutorial on the hardwired texture change is even older and more complex and less flexible.
