First I though that someone would have already done a W3 remake in SC2 but it's been 2 and a half year that I'm waiting for this and no one has done it for the moment. I don't want a mod like HL:Black Mesa where I waited 8 years to finally play it.
And talking about the video, I didn't choose to put this video in particular, this was a test for importing custom model, the video gampleplay 3 for example is far more representative of what I've done for the moment.
And finally, the game wont be a W3 clone as I explained on the description of my project, It will take some mecanics gameplay from War3 and the lore of Warcraft, most of the metagame will be reinvented.

Rispetto Jan 05, 2013 at 06:02 UTC - 0 likesIt's nice to see someone working on a wc3 remake. I'd love to play the wc1 through wc2 campaigns, seeing as how I never wanted to get them working with a DOS workaround.
However I must speculate on the fact this is on the front page of sc2 mapster. The work displayed in all videos features (especially the video on the front page) has very little work put into it.
I, or any other experienced modder for that matter, could produce such content displayed in the first video in about an hour (with working sounds included) seeing as how all models / sounds / systems already existed. The author simply ported them over to sc2.
More often than not projects such as these, which feature massive gameplay mechanics and offer plenty crash and burn. Eventually, especially if doing them solo, you're going to get burnt out on the idea. Especially if everything in your game has been done before (obviously I.E wc3). On the same token, however, it makes it easier to create the game when you know what must be done.
Again please don't take this too negatively; I love seeing that someone is working on wc3.

Sanguinax Jan 04, 2013 at 10:55 UTC - 0 likesThe models are custom models from WoW model viewer. This video was my first video gameplay but you can check the last one here : http://youtu.be/e583w0T8ihU (lots of changes).

MiketheSspike Jan 03, 2013 at 22:56 UTC - 0 likesThere's a team that has been working on WC4 since Starcraft 2 came out http://www.warcraftanewdawn.com/ Not sure if they're still hanging in there or not but back in September Orcs were about finished.

CertusRaven Jan 02, 2013 at 07:27 UTC - 0 likesGuessing it's a very early preview, it looks okay. Seems this is not supposed to be exactly like in WC3, which is not a bad thing. I just wonder if the concept works out in the end.
btw. If there's some remake of the WC2-Campaign out there, this would be a nice thing to have, too.
