StarCraft: Subjection by Gradius
Our good friend Gradius from SCLegacy has taken it upon himself to create a fully voice-acted, 8 mission singleplayer campaign. Subjection will have 4 difficulty levels (similar to the WoL Campaign) and has been released on the NA Server. As of current, the voice-acting is being completed, as is the final mission, but feel free to test the current series and give him some feedback! Below, you can see what looks like the introduction to the campaign...

Gradius12 Nov 28, 2012 at 20:57 UTC - 0 likesThanks everybody. One thing to keep in mind is that it's still in beta and not officially released. Terrain, voice-acting, dialog, and a slew of other stuff is not complete yet. The final mission isn't up either, and I'm mainly looking for some help with testing.
Creation25 - just a bunch of messing around with adobe audition.
UberJumper - cinematic skipping is here now.
Eimtr - Using Kaldir is something I'm debating, because I'll have to buy two copies of the game anyway to fit all the sound files in (i'm projecting 200 mb), and then an extra copy of the expansion to use Kaldir. Plus it'd be nice to be compatible with WoL.

Creation25 Nov 27, 2012 at 21:31 UTC - 0 likesNice job on the effects for sure. I do a fair bit of audio myself and I have no idea how you got that Zealot to sound so badass. Where did you learn this?

Triceron Nov 27, 2012 at 17:49 UTC - 0 likesThe sound quality and effects are top notch! I liked the voicework too, the pace fits the Protoss way of talking. It was a bit difficult to tell exactly who was talking to who though.
For Lordaeron!

Eimtr Nov 27, 2012 at 16:39 UTC - 0 likesNot as great as using directly Kaldir tileset. At first I thought this is in HotS. Anyway excellent voice acting, I don't think I can achieve protoss voice nm which programms I use, this sounded like as if done by Blizzard.

UberJumper Nov 27, 2012 at 08:03 UTC - 0 likesIs there anyway to skip the cutscenes? If you fail the mission, you basically have to sit through all the cutscenes (and there is a lot) again.

OneTwoSC Nov 27, 2012 at 06:46 UTC - 0 likesVoice acting was really good for a map project... didn't expect that haha. Also terrain looks great.
But the writing needs some work imo. The encounter feels like some orc grunts bickering, using randomly interspersed complex words. Also, phrases like "____ as a valid reservation" seem more appropriate in something like Diehard lol.
But writing is tough... which is why it's probably good most projects can't feasibly do voice acting. But even big games like Diablo 3 have issues in this department...

p.s. I've quit mapping since Nov 2011.
