Gridfall is a twitchy action-arena game where you’ll need split second reactions to stay solid ground. Up to 10 players can play in a free-for-all or team based setting, where the last person standing wins. The controls are simple, the spell list short, and the action tight.

Gladiator Arena

Gladiator Arena by Clownz

In this map you control a gladiator (1-6 players) and fight through a series of boss battles, which require dodging and learning each boss's unique mechanics. When you defeat a boss, you gain new equipment and items to strengthen your gladiator, which saves from game to game so that the more you play, the stronger you get. Feel free to check out Blizzard's interview with Clownz as well!

Gnolls VS Trolls by Bounty_98

Bounty has recently revealed his latest map, Gnolls Vs Trolls. Two teams of players must work together to steal their dinner from the opposing team's castle, while at the same time protecting their own team's prisoner. Players can play as one of five classes, each with unique abilities and skills.

Bounty has published some alpha footage below!

The map is currently in closed alpha testing. If you're interested in being a tester, hang out in the chat channel "Gnolls VS Trolls" and you will be first in line for an invite! Bounty is also looking for an Artist to help with the project- make sure to send him a PM if you're interested. You can check out the thread here.

Global Play Coming to StarCraft

Global Play Coming to StarCraft

As many of you likely know, starcraft 2 is region-locked, meaning you cannot play with people who live in different areas. A Global Play option, similar the one in Diablo 3, will be added to Starcraft 2 in a future patch. With global play, you will be able to switch which region you are playing on, allowing you to battle with friends from across the world. You can read the full article here, or join the discussion here.

GameSpot Arcade Highlight

Don't forget, Blizzard wants our tutorials! Head over to the thread and submit a link to your favorite tutorial or even one you've created yourself! Also worth mentioning, Tenarsis (one of the Developers posting in the Custom Maps forums) wrote up a small tutorial/explanation on how to customize UI within your maps.

Arcade Highlight by GameSpot

I wanted to feature this article/video that Blizzard actually blogged about in preparation for what will be a huge influx of new/returning users for Heart of the Swarm. Not only that, but it's a major press outlet reporting on the Custom Map system in SC2, and that's a good thing, :).
